NEW: Netflix's animated musical with Adam Sandler: " Leo"

Our main character, Leonardo, or Leo as he is affectionately known, was born during the Truman administration. And for all 74 years of his life, he never left the same classroom in an American elementary school. That was not even on his mind. Leo was lying on a rock and catching insects with his tongue until one day. During a conversation with his roommate, the sarcastic turtle (his name is Corky, and he is voiced by Bill Burr), somehow he concluded that lizards live only 75 years. And of course, he began to panic that the end was near, that he didn't live enough or at all, that he had to run away and feel the charms of the outside world for the little time he had left.

The ideal opportunity for Leo's escape comes after a replacement arrives in the department. The new teacher, Mrs. Malkin (Cecily Strong), is one of those who only know about "work, order, and discipline", so she immediately starts making the children learn responsibility. Thus, part of her practice becomes taking care of the class pets, a turtle and a lizard, so all the kids, when the weekend comes and it's their turn, have to take one of them home. And to bring him back to school alive on Monday.

Leo, of course, doesn't plan to return when the biggest talker in the class, takes him home. But, since he accidentally shows that he is a lizard who knows how to speak, they start a conversation that slowly takes the form of a therapeutic one. Or friendly. Quite by accident, Leo helps the little girl to solve the problem that is bothering her. And he continues with the same practice with the other children, soon becoming a favorite in the class.

In this charming and unexpectedly clever movie, Sandler needed a secret ingredient. He found it in Robert Smigel, the guy who, back in "Saturday Night Live!", showed that both, jokes and hard life truths can be easily hidden under the veneer of "material for the whole family." This time he managed to prepare one of the funniest comedies of the year.
