Paul Sorvino's daughter posted touching announcement

Actor Paul Sorvino, the father of Oscar winner Mira Sorvino, has passed away. He was best known for the role of gangster Pauli Cicero in Scorsese's film 'Good Guys'. His manager Roger Neal revealed that the actor died of natural causes at his home in the American state of Indiana, writes the BBC. He was 83 years old. He left behind his wife Dee Dee Sorvino and three children.

'There will never be another Paul Sorvino. He was the love of my life and one of the greatest performers ever on the screen and on the stage,' said a devastated Dee Dee in a statement.

Sorvino was born in Brooklyn in 1939, and during his life, he achieved numerous roles acting alongside greats such as Al Pacino and James Caan. He is best remembered for his role as Paul Cicero in the movie 'Good Guys', and he also played detective Phil Cerretto in the series 'Law and Order'.He appeared in more than 50 films and numerous television series. Although he was in poor health condition in his old age, he performed his last two roles in 2019.

His daughter Mira Sorvino won an Oscar for her role in Woody Allen's 'Mighty Aphrodite' in 1996. When it became known that his daughter was a victim of Harvey Weinstein, Sorvino predicted in an interview that the Hollywood mogul would end up behind bars.

'Cause if he doesn't, he'll meet me and I'll kill him. Very simple,' he said.

Mira said goodbye to her father through social networks with a touching announcement.

She wrote: ' My father, great Paul Sorvino has passed. My heart is rent asunder- a life of love and joy and wisdom with him is over. He was the most wonderful father. I love him so much. I am sending you love in the stars Dad as you ascend.'
