Pete Doherty was at the very bottom and appalled the public with his appearance, but he seems to have decided to leave the past behind!

British rocker Pete Doherty,  who shocked a few months ago with his unrecognizable public appearance, has now confirmed the happy news of his engagement to film director Katia de Vidas and it seems that a happier period has really begun for him.

Earlier today, 42-year-old Pete revealed that he has been allegedly sober for the last two and a half years and that he is no longer addicted to hard drugs, which almost ruined his life. Pete posted a cute video on social media of him proposing to Katia, with whom he lives peacefully in France. 

The couple has been together for several years and even performs and holds concerts together under the name Peter Doherty and the Puta Madres. They have existed as a group since 2016, and at first glance, it is really difficult to recognize him due to a few extra pounds and graying beard. 

The happy news about the engagement was confirmed for the Daily Mail by Pete's spokesman, who added that they had been engaged for some time, but they decided to keep the news to themselves until now.

Pete has a history of dating famous beauties such as model Kate Moss, with whom he has been in a relationship since 2005, but the romance soon grew into a turbulent relationship that ended in 2007. After her, he dated the late singer Amy Winehouse, and he once described their relationship as loving.

"Amy and I were lovers. I loved her then, so I love her today. But towards the end of our relationship, she became quite angry and cruel to me. She didn't tolerate fools," he admitted.

Pete also has a son Astile with ex-partner Lisa Moorish, as well as a daughter Aisling with model Lindl Hingston.
