realityOS could see the light at WWDC 2022
Patents registered by technological businesses are a really interesting source of information because, like the job offers they publicize, they present us with a very interesting perspective of where companies may be heading.
On this occasion, as reported by MacRumors, the patent records show that realityOS will be unveiled at the upcoming WWDC 2022, which will take place between June 6 and June 10.
And it is that, despite the fact that these patents were presented a few months ago, they include the express indication that their international registration must take place, at the very least, between June 8 and 9, the dates of WWDC 2022.
And it does not appear that the dates were chosen arbitrarily, but rather as a result of Apple finally telling us about realityOS and its intentions for augmented reality and virtual reality.
And what does this imply? The first gadget running realityOS could be unveiled before the end of the year. If Apple reveals the operating system at this year's developer conference, we can deduce that what it wants is for developers to start working on the first apps for it, that is, to populate the app store so that, whenever it is released, it will be able to compete with Android.
At the time of the initial viewer's presentation and marketing launch, there is already a sufficiently consistent app offering for the device to be appealing to potential purchasers.
Although virtual reality has been around for a while, it has yet to take off and is still used by a small percentage of the population. And with Apple's economic prospects, it appears that price will continue to be one of the barriers, because, as is common with Cupertino, we expect the first device with RealityOS to be, if not the most expensive in its category, at least one of the most costly.
