American actress and star of the series "Beverly Hills, 90210" Shannen Doherty (50) has been fighting a difficult battle with breast cancer for years, which is currently in the fourth stage.
She has now spoken about her illness on Instagram, where she also showed for the first time what she looks like without hair after chemotherapy treatment, all with the intention of making others aware of the importance of regular check-ups.
"On the occasion of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I would like to share with you more about my journey from first to the second diagnosis. Is everything nice? No, but it's honest and I share this with the hope of educating people and giving them a little better idea of what cancer looks like. I hope to encourage others to go for mammograms regularly and overcome the fear of possible bad results.I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. I underwent mastectomy and chemotherapy and radiation treatments.I often had a nosebleed from chemotherapy. I don't know did any of you experience this. I amused myself by wearing funny pajamas given to me by my friend Kristy. Did they really improve my mood? They did! I looked hilarious and laughed to myself. Humor helped me get through what it seemed impossible.I hope we all manage to find humor in impossible situations, ” Shannen wrote.

Shannen recently spoke about her serious illness on the show "Good Morning America".
"I don't want to act like I'm dying. I want to work and act like nothing's happening because I'm going to fight to stay alive," she said at the time.
The news that her illness was in the fourth stage was revealed in February 2020, three years after it was learned that she was in remission.
"Many people diagnosed with stage IV disease simply write themselves off. Assume they can't do anything anymore, that they can't do their best, and that's not true. I wish such thoughts could change and give myself a chance to prove that it’s wrong, ”she stressed, adding that she is going through the first phase of treatment, which she explains as a great success.
