Snowmobiles are also switching to electricity

Taiga Motors, a US business, has raised more than $100 million in funding for its electric water jet skis and snow scooters, which are already available for purchase in the US.

Electric automobiles, electric scooters, electric bicycles, and electric planes are all examples of contemporary technologies that have become virtually daily occurrences.

Taiga Motors, an American firm, has decided to add two new, previously untapped categories to its line of electric vehicles. They first transformed jet skis for driving on water surfaces into batteries and electric motors, and they have now developed electric snowmobiles as well (snowmobile, ie snow scooter).

Despite the fact that the snowmobile season is drawing to a close, their first electric snowmobile, the Taiga Nomad, has just entered the market. According to the manufacturer, its range with full batteries is up to 100 kilometers, and the 90 hp engine can "pull" a load of around 500 kilos. All of this is accomplished without the hazardous emissions and loud noises that characterize these cars.

Nomad also touts regenerative recharge of batteries while braking, "indestructible" direct transmission of power from electric motors to tracks via a toothed belt, and the removal of several elements from the propulsion system (such as gearbox).

The Nomada battery can be charged to 80 percent in about 30 minutes using the most powerful charger, while it can be fully charged in roughly 14 hours using the slowest charger (on the house socket).

The innovative electric snowmobile has a starting price of 17,500 US dollars. Taiga will provide several more models of a comparable vehicle for varied reasons (sports, traction, and multi-passenger transport), the fastest of which will go from zero to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds with a 180-hp engine.

The same American manufacturer already has an electric jet ski Orca in its lineup - it, on the other hand, can sail at speeds of more than 100 km/h, has a 180 hp engine, and has two-hour battery life. The pricing is the same as it is for the snowmobile.

Taiga Motors floated its shares last year, raising up to $ 100 million in financing for the development and production of its electric vehicles.
