SOON: "The New Look" series about Christian Dior and Coco Chanel

Apple TV+ has recently introduced several TV projects that have attracted the attention of viewers globally, with hit series such as The Crowded RoomLessons in ChemistrySilo and The Morning Show.

In line with previous successes, the platform is already showing that 2024 will be another great year for the TV channel, bearing in mind that the spectacular series, which follows two fashion icons and their contemporaries, has been worked on by some of the biggest and most respected names in the film industry.

The script is written by the legendary Todd A. Kessler ( The SopranosDamages ) and the cast is led by Mendelsohn ( Secret Invasion ), and Binoche ( The Staircase ). In the new series, Maisie Williams ( Game of Thrones ) will also star as Catherine Dior - Christian's sister who became famous for her contribution to the fight during the Second World War, on the side of France. Other roles include John Malkovich as Lucien Lelong, Emily Mortimer as Elsa Lombardi, and Claes Bang as Spatz.

Apple Studios in cooperation with DB-AK Productions is responsible for the production, and in addition to Kessler, the executive producers are Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Baker.

What is the series about and what can we expect?

Inspired by real events and shot exclusively in Paris, "The New Look" follows legendary designers who launch monumental and historic fashion creations while simultaneously going through the horrors of World War II.

At the same time, it conveys fascinating and surprising details about the events that follow Dior and his rivals - from Chanel to Pierre Balmain and Cristóbal Balenciaga. Set during the Nazi occupation of Paris, the series focuses on a turning point in the 20th century when the city of light restored hope to the rest of the world, without renouncing fashion, culture, and above all, the illusion of luxury.

At what point does everything heat up? As Dior gains a reputation for its revolutionary and fundamental stamp on the world of fashion, it brings the established reign of Coco Chanel as the most influential and respected fashion designer of the time - into uncertainty and potential danger. This all sounds very intriguing and we couldn't be more excited about the promising fashion history drama!
