Spotify will promote the NFTs of its artists

Spotify is definitely not at its best. On the one hand, it has faced significant criticism for adding podcasts by the controversial Joe Rogan to its collection, which has prompted several musicians to leave Spotify, as well as user rejection.

On the other hand, despite repeated statements about this type of content, many of the promised podcasts have yet to appear; and, last but not least, the HiFi music promised by Spotify more than a year ago has yet to arrive.

Thus, we may conclude that Spotify has specialized in promoting and promising new features for some time now, without necessarily implying that they will materialize.

We realize it sounds horrible, but rather the confirmation of an easily verifiable fact. Maybe it's because the projects are hard, or maybe it's because of a bizarre but possibly effective marketing strategy, but we've been seeing something like this for a long time.

The most intriguing aspect is that, although these major announcements are being postponed indefinitely, Spotify launches to investigate other prospective upgrades for the service.

According to TechCrunch, the most recent news is that Spotify is testing a new feature in which artists with a presence on the platform can use it to advertise their non-expendable digital assets, you know, the popular NFTs.

The test is open to the public, albeit it is currently limited to a pre-selected group of musicians in the United States, and in all cases, consumers can browse the archive of NFTs promoted by artists on Spotify.

Of course, the service merely serves as a showcase; if someone wishes to purchase one of these tokens, they will be referred to the digital asset store where it is published, without Spotify engaging in the process and receiving commissions.

According to the company, they are testing this function in response to requests for this function from third parties. The major question is whether Spotify users share this interest, and hence whether they will access the profiles of artists in pursuit of their NFTs, whether out of curiosity or genuine interest in obtaining one.

Regardless, it's great that Spotify is testing new features… But that they get their act together with high-fidelity music because that's what fans actually want.
