The BMW 7 Series Comes In Style

BMW is entering a new era of innovation focused on sustainability and digitalization. The new BMW 7 Series, shows the direction in which it will continue to develop in areas such as driving pleasure, travel comfort, and the highest level of digital experience. The new 7 Series also includes the new BMW i7, a luxury sedan with a fully electric drive.

The seventh generation of the BMW 7 Series represents a modern style that focuses on the most important elements in exterior and interior design.

The design of the front part in the luxury segment is dominated by elements typical of the brand, which, however, maintain a distance between luxury and other vehicles in the BMW offer.

These include the new, split headlights, while the daytime running lights are also available on request in the Crystal version of Iconic Glow with built-in Swarovski crystals, which create interesting effects when unlocking and locking the vehicle.

The vehicle brings massive backlit kidneys of the radiator grille or a dynamic light carpet at the door, two-color painting is also available on request.

The progressive character of the luxury sedan is accentuated by innovative features such as the ultra-widescreen 31.3" 32.3" BMW Theater Screen in 8K resolution, which extends down from the roof and turns the second row of seats into an exclusive private cinema on wheels.

5.5-inch touch controls built into the rear doors are used to control the built-in infotainment, rear seat telephone, seat position, and interior lighting. The BMW Maps navigation system is also available on request, which uses cloud technology along with the display of navigation instructions using Augmented View augmented reality.

The on-demand BMW Digital Key Plus allows the vehicle to be unlocked and locked via the iPhone using a broadband (UWB) radio technology with enhanced security.

At the same time, the new BMW 7 Series will allow customers to take advantage of the improved integration of mobile phones via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Unlike its predecessors, the new BMW 7 Series will be available worldwide exclusively as a model with a long wheelbase (3,215 mm), which increases rear space by 5 millimeters thanks to an intergenerational increase.

The total length has increased by 130 mm to 5391 millimeters, with 1950 millimeters the vehicle is 48 millimeters wider than its predecessor and at the same time 51 millimeters higher (1544 millimeters). The use of specific components and variants of the propulsion system determines the different dimensions of its character.

The new BMW 7 Series family also includes BMW and BMW M models, which allow more of the vehicle's features to come to the fore - from sleek, modern, and sustainable to expressive, sporty, and dynamic.

The new BMW 7 Series now offers a choice of internal combustion engines, plug-in hybrid systems (with a range of more than 80 kilometers), and fully electric propulsion.

The diversity in the portfolio stems from the newly developed flexible vehicle architecture. An important feature of electric models is the possibility of fast DC charging with an output of up to 195 kW, so after 10 minutes the range can be increased by up to 170 kilometers.

Charging improves the ability to preheat the battery so that it is ideally prepared for such charging performance. Plug-in hybrid versions of the new BMW 7 Series with an electric motor built directly into the transmission and a six-cylinder petrol engine will follow in many markets from the beginning of 2023.

Their system performance has increased, fuel consumption has been reduced, charging power has doubled and the energy density of the high-voltage battery has increased by more than 50 percent compared to previous models.

Among them will be the first BMW M model with a six-cylinder in-line petrol engine and a plug-in hybrid drive system that combines exceptionally low fuel consumption with the traditional high performance typical of M-branded vehicles and mild-hybrid technology. Other variants of the fully-electric BMW i7, including the future top BMW i7 M70 xDrive, will come on the market later.

The chassis has been extensively upgraded to perfectly combine the pleasure of sporty driving with first-class comfort for the rear passengers. Therefore, the standard equipment will include air suspension on both axles, supplemented by adaptive shock absorbers.

The Integral Active Steering rear wheels and the Executive Drive Pro system with modified active anti-roll bars are then available on request. An innovative technology package with a new generation of sensors, new software, and a powerful computing platform creates an exceptional potential for level 3 autonomous driving, including enhanced automated parking features.

The standard Parking Assistant system also includes a Reversing Assist Camera and a Reversing Assistant reversing assistance system. On vehicles equipped with the optional Parking Assistant Professional, the Reversing Assistant can take over the driver and back up with the vehicle up to 200 meters.

The new Maneuver Assistant system can memorize several parking maneuvers up to 200 meters long for each maneuver. As the vehicle approaches the memorized starting point, the Manual Assistant takes over all tasks associated with controlling the vehicle, including checking acceleration, braking, and steering, as well as changing the direction of travel forwards or backward. The driver can concentrate on monitoring the vehicle's surroundings throughout the maneuver.

The next flagship model, the new BMW i7 M70 xDrive, will have a fully electric dual-engine powertrain (one on the front and rear) and will be available in 2023.

The powertrain generates maximum power well in excess of 440 kW (600 hp) and a maximum torque exceeding 1000 Nm. The most powerful BMW model ever built for normal traffic will accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than 4 seconds.

(All BMW i7 M70 xDrive performance, acceleration, and energy consumption figures are preliminary estimates based on the current development phase of the vehicle, including a temporary increase in performance.)

The digital cockpit consists of a curved BMW Curved Display, which hides a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.9-inch center screen under one cover glass curved towards the driver.

The driver can enjoy contact with the innovative BMW Interaction Bar, enhanced BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant capabilities, additional My Modes modes, the latest BMW Head-Up Display, and Augmented View augmented reality, which is available directly for the first time on a digital dashboard.

As a result, the intuitive driver-vehicle dialogue has been taken to a new level. A novelty is also the softly illuminated control panel on the center console, as well as the new shape of the transmission selector. Depending on the version, the steering wheel has two or three arms and a flat lower part.

The new BMW 7 Series will also be available in a special version of the BMW Protection Vehicle in 2023. Thanks to its unique built-in protection system, which has been completely redesigned, the armored model meets the special requirements of authorities, government officials, and prominent individuals who require special protection.
