The Day Before switches to Unreal Engine 5

Gamers will have to be patient for another 10 months.

If you're not familiar with The Day Before, you're probably in the minority.

The plot of this survival open-world MMO game is set in post-pandemic America, and players will be terrified of infected cannibals and together with gamers from all over the world will try in every way to survive. This game is currently at the top of the Steam wish list, ahead of titles such as Stalker 2, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Starfield.

However, we will not have the opportunity to play the most anticipated game of the year on June 21, as originally announced.

Fntastic studios say that the game will now be built in Epic's Unreal Engine 5 and that we can expect it on March 1, 2023.

The trailer released in January, which shows the use of GeForce RTX technology, amazed us with its visual spectacle. Using the new engine, the game will surely look even better.

In March of this year, Epic Games announced that it was entering into a multi-year partnership with CD Projekt Red studio, in order to join forces to open-world experience in games based on Unreal Engine 5. It was also revealed that the next part of the Witcher franchise will be built on a new.

The impending Witcher game, of course, should not be overlooked when unveiling the final Unreal Engine 5. CDPR outlines why they are switching to the Epic engine.

The Unreal Engine 5 is complete, and that alone warrants a news item. But what was happening around it was almost as fascinating, as two new UE5-based games were also announced in the neighborhood.

Although a new The Witcher game has already been announced, the future Tomb Raider is also based on the Unreal Engine 5. In both cases, the creators are handing over control of their own engines.

CDPR’s Pawel Zawodny (CTO) and Jason Slama were also present at the Unreal Engine show (Game Director). They clarify that, while they’ve only been working with Epic for a short time, the main reason they’ve become aware of Unreal Engine 5 is the shift to the open world.
