The first look at the 3rd season of the sci-fi series "La Brea"!
The third season of NBC's sci-fi series "La Brea" will also be its last.
The third season of NBC's sci-fi series "La Brea" will also be its last. Fans will surely not like it, especially since it is a shortened season consisting of only six episodes. The series received a straight-to-series order after work on the 2020 pilot was halted due to the pandemic. "La Brea" had a solid launch in the fall of 2021 with a 10-episode first season and was then renewed for a 14-episode second season. Subsequently, due to the upcoming WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, NBC decided to cut the third season short.
The plot follows an epic family adventure after a huge sinkhole opens in Los Angeles, pulling people and buildings into a mysterious and dangerous primeval land where they have no choice but to band together to survive. The final episodes will reveal whether the survivors of the Los Angeles crash will return to their original timeline, or whether some of them will be condemned to remain in the past. Eve, Gavin, and their children have already been through everything and anything, but they will have to fight a little more if they want to survive.
A sneak peek at the third season focuses on dinosaurs as a major element of the show, after Gavin is sent back in time. The Harris family survived in three different timelines during the show's run, and the group ended the second season returning to the most dangerous one. Gavin made a choice when he killed his father, James because he tried to take control of the "time machine". After someone killed his mother, Dr. Caroline Clark, Gavin was left alone in a timeline with no idea how to get back.
David Appelbaum, creator and showrunner of the series, said the following about the third season: “I'm really proud of these last episodes, and I think the story builds to a really satisfying and emotionally cathartic ending. These episodes will be a great ride, especially for fans who care about these characters and want answers to the mysteries of the show.”
The third season of the series will arrive on NBC on January 9, 2024, and just a day later it will arrive on the Peacock platform.
