The first trailer for Garland's film "Civil War" is out!

A24 brings the first official trailer for Alex Garland's epic story, the political action drama "Civil War", in which a great cast awaits us.

The action drama is set in the near future and focuses on the USA during the civil war in which the government targets civilians and journalists and uses airstrikes against those who find themselves in the Capitol. In the announcement, we can see a destroyed America, news about the war, the collapse of federal states, and the American president, played by Nick Offerman.

To be honest, we didn't expect what we got from the first official trailer for "Civil War", directed by Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Annihilation).  However, since it is still about events in the near future, and since the film to a certain extent also exudes dystopia, we decided to share this trailer with you.

Now, why did we expect anything else from the trailer? Well, this is a Garland movie after all, and we were hoping to get a proper genre work. Instead, at first, it seems like a mix of action, political thriller, and drama. In addition to directing, Garland also wrote the screenplay for the film, and the producers are Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich and Gregory Goodman. The trailer will reveal more to you than the brief synopsis.

An exciting adrenaline ride through a fractured near-future America that balances on a thin edge

19 states departed from the country, causing a civil war. California and Texas, led by the so-called Western Forces advance on Washington, DC. Kirsten Dunst is a photojournalist on a mission as she tries to bridge the gap between two warring parties - the US government and a group known as Western Forces. The characters played by Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson and Cailee Spaeny are traveling with her, and the relationship between the trio is not fully clarified in the trailer. Together they pass through America on their way to the White House, while all hell breaks loose around them.

"Civil War" arrives in theaters on April 26, 2024.
