"The Holiday" a 17-year-old comedy has become a hit again!

The romantic comedy "The Holidays" first appeared on the small screen back in 2006, and the cast of this holiday classic consisted of Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, and Kate Winslet. The entertaining script and great acting won the hearts of the audience even then, but this film's true renaissance was truly experienced this year. And that's thanks to fans who started sharing scenes from the movie on the social network TikTok with the hashtags #theholiday and #theholidaymovie, which already have over 350 million views. How is it that after 17 years this romantic comedy experienced a "boom"?

Great cast and a touch of nostalgia

Foreign media "blamed" the fantastic cast for this phenomenon. The main actor, Jude Law, has always been known as a favorite of women, whose charm and amazing acting cannot be resisted by any lady. Apart from him, the main stars of the film are two exceptional "blondes" - the charismatic Cameron Diaz, as well as the enchanting Kate Winslet.

The film is set at the very beginning of the 2000s, which is another reason why young people are "crazy" about it, and as experts explain, this period is especially dear to the younger generations. This is supported by the fact that the #00s hashtag on TikTok has over 6.1 billion views! But nostalgia and great actors aren't the only thing that sets this movie apart from the rest. A cake in the shape of the iconic farmhouse, made by a pastry chef from Essex, also contributed to the film's popularity.  Foreign media reported that the cake brought popularity not only to the film but also to this confectioner, who in just a few days received several inquiries from users of social networks. All of them had only one wish - to have a cake like this on their table for the holidays.
