The secret of beautiful Easter Island

There are many theories about their origin, but scientists have not come up with a solution to date.

Easter Island, a special territory of Chile in the southeast Pacific Ocean, is one of the strangest and most prestigious places on earth. Hundreds of giant, stone statues are a lasting testament to one of the most unusual civilizations the world has ever seen.

Easter Island is also called Rapa Nui and it is a typical island of Polynesian culture. It is very far from Chile but contains one of its World Heritage sites because the statues have been part of the Rapa Nui National Park since 1995.

Easter Island has fascinated both the scientific world and the entire public for decades, and one part of the mystery has finally been solved. Rapa Nui has become a first-class tourist destination thanks to the oldest stone inhabitants - Moai sculptures.

Researchers have long wondered why the huge statues were placed where they are. However, a new study says that the locals placed them near the source of the most vital resource of humanity: fresh water.

A new study tried to find evidence of how many inhabitants there were in this area, where huge heads carved out of stone were found. According to research, about 17,500 people lived on Easter Island. Previous studies have claimed that between 1,500 and 3,000 people lived on this island.

The history of Easter Island is still very mysterious, and in addition to the conflicts that took place there, the population has decreased due to the ecology itself and the lack of basic living conditions, primarily food.

According to the testimonies of the descendants of the first inhabitants of the island of Rapa Nui, the characters of the Moai represent today's ancestors of the islanders. These beings had extraordinary power, and some research links them to mantras. The way in which these deities were described, to whom special mental powers have traditionally been attributed, gave rise to incredible theories that these ancestors were actually aliens.

Visitors from space had a mission to pass on their advanced knowledge to the inhabitants of Easter Island, among other things, knowledge of the alphabet and the complex process of building and transmitting moai. Although this hypothesis is not well-founded, the claim that moai represent visitors from space could justify the apparent bodily proportions of the statue.
