These Netflix series are based on true stories!

If you are a fan of history and true crime, you can find unlimited content on Netflix that, in addition to education, entertainment and adrenaline, will also make you think. Who knows, maybe certain stories interest you so much that you continue to research them privately. We present you Netflix series based on true stories.

Narcos

Narcos follows the rise and fall of drug lord Pablo Escobar and his enormous cocaine-dealing business in Colombia. Escobar is not the only true name in this series, but we also follow the experiences of Steve Murphy and Javier Pena, agents of the Narcotics Enforcement Administration who tried to stop the drug trade. The first season shows the beginnings of Escobar's career in the late seventies, when he became interested in the cocaine trade, until July 1992. He was an established black market trader in Medellin, driving trucks of illegal goods (alcohol, cigarettes, household appliances) at a time when it was strictly forbidden. Then he met Mateo Moreno, a Chilean outlaw and chemist from the underground, who suggested that they should cooperate - with Moreno producing and Escobar distributing a new, profitable drug - cocaine. The rest is history.

Mindhunter

Based on the book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit, this series deals with real and fictional characters (for example, Wendy Carr really exists, while Holden Ford does not). "Mindhunter" follows two FBI agents who launch a research project to understand the psychology of serial killers. Agents conduct interviews with criminals, including Edmund Camper, Montie Rissell, Jerry Brudos, Richard Speck, Wayne Williams, Charles Manson, and others.

The Crown

This slow-motion series is full of shocking events that happened behind the closed doors of Buckingham Palace. "The Crown"  follows Queen Elizabeth II throughout her reign. The Queen is played by Claire Foy, Olivia Colman and Imelda Staunton. She played her for the last two seasons, because of her age. It is fascinating for us to follow how the lives of the royal family have changed over the years, as well as the politics that, in fact, have affected the whole world in various ways. There is also Princess Diana, Prince Charles, Prime Minister Harold Wilson, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and many other historical figures - with all their virtues and flaws.

This is only part of the Netflix series that are based on true stories. There are many more and if you love this kind of "excitement"  you will have a great choice.
