These stars were rejected and told they don't know how to sing!

Today we all listen to their music and can't imagine them doing anything else. But did you know that some musicians were initially told that they couldn't sing? Here are those stars and how they proved their critics wrong.

They told Shakira that she sounds like a goat!

If you look at the top trending songs, there you will currently find Shakira's new song in collaboration with Argentinian producer Bizarrap. This "revenge" song dedicated to her ex-husband Pique has taken YouTube trending by storm around the world. But it's not the first Shakira song to do that. Whenever, Wherever, Hips Don't Lie, La Tortura, Waka Waka, are songs that almost everyone knows.

But, believe it or not, the music teacher didn't let Shakira join the school choir. He told her that her voice was too "unruly" and that she sounded like a goat. Fortunately, Shakira was not discouraged by this. She perfected her voice and practiced tirelessly, and today her unique vibrato is recognized both in her native Colombia and throughout the world.

Elvis Presley was told he was better off being a truck driver!

The king of rock'n'roll and one of the most famous singers in history, Elvis Presley, also had to listen to similar negative comments at school. When he was 14, he was given a unit in music with comments that his singing was below average compared to the rest of his classmates and that he had no singing potential.

Later, he tried to join a local quartet, but he was rejected with the comment that he was not talented enough. After one performance at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, the concert manager allegedly told him that he would be better off being a truck driver because he would never make it as a singer. However, Elvis did not give up and after a few years, he was discovered by the producer of Sun Records, Sam Phillips. The rest is history.

The same case was with Madonna, Fred Astaire, Kelly Clarkson, and many others but they proved that their talent was real!
