Tom Cruise ruined a couple's walk
Tom Cruise may be a superstar, but he clearly hasn't forgotten his manners.
A married couple, Jason and Sarah Haygarth, recently told "Extra" about meeting the movie star while walking their dog in a very remote and rather hilly national park in the United Kingdom called the Lake District. They noticed that there were helicopters over one area, which was unusual.
"Toward the end of the walk, we saw helicopters coming out of the ravine and dropping people from the top... We thought, this is something wrong" - Jason said and added:
"We soon found out that it was the cameramen. When we got to the end, a member of the production team stopped us and said, 'You can't go this way. We're going to drop a helicopter from the top'... So we took a selfie", he said.
After the helicopters landed, the pair continued on their way where they ran into Cruise strapped to a paraglider. It turns out that Tom Cruise was filming one of his daring stunt sequences for the next film Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One".
"I immediately understood that it was him" - said Sara. "Tom Cruise first apologized for the noise and said: Sorry, guys, I know we spoiled your walk. And then he added, 'I like your dog'," Jason says.
The married couple managed to talk a little with the celebrated actor, and when they asked him what he was going to do at that moment and when Cruise coolly answered that he was planning to jump as if it was nothing, they were dumbfounded.
"Just before he jumped, he said, 'See you! I hope this goes well, we wished him luck,'" Sarah and Jason said.
Tom Cruise may be a superstar, but he clearly hasn't forgotten his manners. The film "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One" will premiere on July 14, 2023.
By the way, thanks to his latest blockbuster "Top Gun: Maverick," Tom Cruise is officially the highest-grossing movie star, Variety reported. The actor, who is not only the star of the sequel but also the producer, according to sources earned more than $100 million.
"Top Gun: Maverick" is now Paramount's highest-grossing film ever, grossing $1.2 billion globally, and Cruise's first film to cross the $1 billion mark.
