The trailer of Nicole Kidman's series "Expats" is out!
Prime Video presented the limited drama series "Expats" with Nicole Kidman!
With the words: "Sometimes I just want to be alone. So I am nobody's wife, nobody's mother. So I'm not defined by tragedy", Nicole Kidman's character starts the first trailer for the new series "Expats", which will soon arrive on Prime Video.
The six-part limited series is directed by Lulu Wang and the whole project is based on the bestselling novel "The Expatriates" by Janice Y.K. Lee. This novel explores an international community in Hong Kong whose lives are forever linked after a sudden family tragedy.
In the center of the plot are three American women living in Hong Kong in 2014: Margaret (Kidman), who has moved her whole family there, Hilary (Sarayu Blue), whose career comes first, and Mercy (Ji-young Yoo), a carefree girl from New York who has just finished college and she is finding her way in a new society. Their lives become intertwined after a family tragedy. The series questions privilege and explores what happens when the lines between victimhood and guilt become blurred. Within their nearest circle, wealth is celebrated and friendships come and go. But then, a family tragedy suddenly hits, bringing their neighborhood even closer together.
Along with Kidman, Blue, and Yoo, Brian Tee and Jack Huston star, and Wang, in addition to directing the series, is its author, screenwriter, and one of the executive producers. During production, the series was the subject of many controversies, both because the Hong Kong government exempted Kidman from a strict quality regime, and because it was filmed on location despite the current political unrest.
We will have the opportunity to watch "Expats" on Prime Video on January 26, 2024, with the first two episodes after which the remaining four will be available one by one every week until the finale on February 23. It sounds great!
