Kristen Stewart and Katy O'Brian star in the new "Love Lies Bleeding" movie!
The latest film by director Rose Glass will be presented at the Sundance Film Festival.
It has been known for some time that Kristen Stewart and Katy O'Brien are chosen to lead the cast of the romantic thriller "Love Lies Bleeding". Rose Glass directs this movie, and today we finally have the opportunity to watch the first announcement trailer.
What can we expect?
The trailer reveals to us Lou (Stewart), who is in quite intense family problems, and her life becomes even more complicated when she falls in love with Jackie (O'Brien). Lou spent her whole life in this gun-obsessed town, but for Jackie, it's all new and unfamiliar and she has a hard time fitting in.
In “Love Lies Bleeding”, Stewart plays a gym manager, Lou, who meets a bodybuilder named Jackie (Katy M. O’Brian). Jacke has stopped in town and intends to go to Las Vegas to pursue her bodybuilding dreams. Lou falls in love with Jackie, but their relationship is disrupted as the two face dangerous threats from Lou’s criminal father. The trailer shows their romantic spark and the chaos that happens. Money and violence rule the streets here and when Jackie and Lou find themselves involved in a murder, their bond becomes even stronger. This romantic thriller is reminiscent of the classic erotic crime thriller of the Wachowski sisters, "Beyond Measure", but with fewer mafia connections and even more sexual tension.
The film also stars Ed Harris as Lou's father and also Jena Malone, Dave Franco, and Anna Baryshnikov are part of the cast.
Director Rose Glass and Weronika Tofilska co-wrote the script. Andrea Cornwell and Oliver Kassman operated as producers, and the film is a co-production between A24 and Film 4.
"Love Lies Bleeding" is Glass's second feature, following her critically acclaimed directorial debut "Saint Maud" from 2019. The film will have its premiere in January at the Sundance Film Festival and we will have the opportunity to watch it in theaters on March 8.
