The news that media mogul Rupert Murdoch (91) and 25-year-younger actress Jerry Hall are divorcing after six years of marriage has surprised the public, and many are wondering what led to the end of their love story.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, they are divorcing because the billionaire does not approve of his, soon ex-wife's, smoking habit. He was reportedly not happy that Jerry consumes tobacco and he often stay distanced while she would smoke.
The couple often looked like doves in love when they were filmed. They would hold hands and smile the whole time. Of course, there was always mention of the fact that Rupert had a fortune of £ 14 billion and on-duty critics said that was exactly what had enchanted Jerry. That something was going on between the spouses was hinted earlier when Jerry didn’t show up at Rupert’s annual, summer party at the Serpentine Gallery in London. Part of the guests asked where the actress was, and they only got a simple answer that she went to Los Angeles.

The couple met in the summer of 2015 while the actress was performing around Australia with the play ‘The Graduate’.Murdoch and Hall were married in March 2016 after a five-month relationship. After a fateful ‘yes’ the media mogul wrote on Twitter that he is the happiest man in the world.
