What Is Toxic Productivity And How To Avoid It

We live in a time when we expect too much from ourselves and allow others to expect even more. That is why we constantly feel the pressure that we have to give even more. But productivity can sometimes be toxic.

Toxic behavior is behavior that harms not only ourselves or others, but our goals and everyday life.
Today productivity is very popular. We are impressed with people who work for hours, even at night. We will rarely praise people who are sleepy and rested.
During the pandemic time, many people are working from home. So, they think that they should use their free time to learn a new skill or fulfill tasks that they have postponed.

Expecting people to be even more productive during the pandemic is very harmful. If you can not achieve all your tasks it doesn't mean that you are not productive. It only means that you are a human being.
Many do not know how to set boundaries and are rarely aware of how to recognize toxic productivity.
If your business ethic involves ignoring basic needs such as food, drink, and sleep or going to the toilet, then it is not a matter of work ethic but toxic productivity.

Maybe you have heard your family members complaining that you work too much or that you are never home at any time? What they want to tell you is that they miss you. Forgetting obligations and ignoring personal duties is an additional sign that you are overdoing your work and thus harming yourself and your loved ones.
Many expect themselves to have the same productivity as before the pandemic. Pandemics bring us a big amount of stress. Even if you work from home.

If you are going through a phase of toxic products, you may have trouble being left alone with yourself and facing times when you are working.
The moment when you finally decide to take a day off, you feel guilt, restlessness, and emptiness.
People are complaining about having a feeling that they are not emotionally present, often not even physically.
If you are among those who feel they are experiencing toxic productivity, you are not alone. Sometimes we all have these feelings, it is natural. We are just human beings. Remember, this condition is not permanent.
