What we expect from Google I/O 2022

Sundar Pichai has officially announced the dates for Google I/O 2022. The annual developer conference, as well as the Internet giant's biggest event of the year, will take place on May 11-12.

It will be an online event, similar to last year's, with developers, industry members, and members of the media needing to register in order to attend. The corporation has also stated that there would be some type of physical attendance, but that it will be limited to a few select visitors.

It is a highly professional event for developers, but Google has used it to unveil consumer items, particularly smartphones such as the Pixel 3a and 3a XL and the Home assistant. We won't have to look far to find anything new.

Without a question, the event's star. Not for nothing does it control hundreds of millions of mobile phones, with a market share of more than 85%. Google is responsible for everything that isn't iOS. It is not expected to be as large an update as the current Android 12, but we will see improvements in privacy, game mode, picture-in-picture (PiP) controls enhanced scrolling screenshots, and customizable back panel tap gestures.

The variant of the mobile system specializing in large-screen devices, innovative forms such as double/folding screens, and electronic tablets, was as unexpected as it was exciting, and we will have news here as well. It was recently released on the Pixel and will soon be available on smartphones such as Samsung and Lenovo. Also, Microsoft has updated the Surface Duo as an example of this version.

WearOS

Google must push its wearables system among its Android partners, who have previously opted for their own advancements, most notably Samsung with Tizen OS. It is critical to resurrect the South Korean behemoth (and others) for the cause if they are to compete with Apple.

Hardware

There has been speculation that Google may re-enter the tablet industry with a new tablet. A Pixel 7 smartphone is also on the way. Perhaps the most recent thing would be the first Google foldable, which is set to be out in October 2022. There is still plenty of time, but that is the most important thing.

Those who want to attend the developer sessions can do so by registering for the event. All users will be able to attend the presentation, which will include consumer-focused announcements. There is still time to register for Google I/O 2022. A crucial incident that we shall discuss in the following weeks.
