Meta confirms the arrival of NFTs on Instagram

Beyond their intrinsic usefulness, when we discuss NFTs, we cannot resist mentioning a developing trend and rapid expansion in all domains. And, of course, when it comes to powerful figures, Mark Zuckerberg cannot be overlooked, since he has declared that Meta intends to deploy non-fungible tokens on Instagram "in the near future."

An announcement that continues to surprise us, given the latest statements by Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, who declared last year that the company was "actively exploring NFTs," as well as the parent company's own reinvention, renamed Meta to demonstrate its commitment to the cutting edge of technology and the metaverse.

According to Engadget, Zuckerberg revealed at SXSW (the South by Southwest conference) that collectibles enabled by blockchain will be coming to this social network in the near future, however, he refused to reveal exactly what the corporation had planned for this widely criticized technology.

While Zuckerberg stated that he is "not ready to reveal exactly what it will be today," he did confirm that Instagram should have the "ability to incorporate some of its NFTs" as well as the ability to mint new NFTs on the platform in the coming months.

The mention of the ability to mint your own NFTs brings to mind previous actions made by other companies such as Twitter and Reddit, who have recently allowed users to make their profile picture an NFT.

And because this social network is already founded on the free insertion of images, its nature could be more closely related to the monetary term.

However, we cannot rule out the possibility of further purchasing and selling alternatives, transforming Instagram into an exchange platform for these tokens. Furthermore, the introduction of NFTs may wind up being linked to the already existing component of in-app purchases.

How to hide Instagram likes:

Ever since life moved to social networks, everything is measured by likes, and experts warn that it is not very good for mental health. Instagram has released a hiding option to alleviate the problem, so users can focus on the content instead of its popularity.

Likes can be removed before some content is published, but also later - when the account owner wishes. The process is short, and here is what needs to be done.

When the Instagram account is opened and you go to the profile, all you have to do is click on the three horizontal lines in the upper left corner.

After that, a menu opens, from which you select Settings, then Privacy, and then Posts. At the top of that section is Hide Like and View counts, so when that option is activated the job is done.

Likes can also be hidden for individual posts before they are published. When you have finished preparing a photo, there are Advanced settings at the bottom - this is a section where you can turn off comments and set other details, and at the top, there are Hide like and view counts on this post.

When activated, the number of likes below the content becomes invisible.

The same can be done with older posts, and if you go to the desired post, click on the three dots in the upper right corner and select Hide-like count. Where there used to be liked, it now says "liked by one user and others". Experts say it's better that way.
