When is the right time to apply hand cream?
Dermatologists discovered when is the right time to apply the cream on the hands: Immediately after washing or a little later?
When it comes to signs of ageing, the hands are the first place where it shows. The reason is that, although hands are the most used part of our body, they are also the most neglected when it comes to skin care. We only notice the hands when they become dry, chapped or damaged. Then is already too late. When we neglect our hands, we leave them defenceless against signs of ageing such as pigmentation, wrinkles and dehydration.
Also, low temperatures and dry air dry out our skin, and the hands that are most exposed are especially affected, along with the face. Not wearing gloves and insufficient care can lead to cracking of the skin and redness, itching, and even the formation of sores. That can be very painful.
Dermatologists warn us not to get into that condition because it will take a long time for everything to heal and go back to the old way, and add that prevention is actually very simple. You do not need expensive preparations or a lot of time, it is only important that you regularly apply the cream to your hands to nourish your skin.
However, one thing is important - when you apply the cream on them. Dermatologists said that it is very important to apply the cream immediately after washing, for about a minute to two. Moisturizer will restore moisture and softness to the skin but do not delay this procedure after washing them.
You will miss that short period while your hands are wet to rub all the nutrients well. When the water evaporates, that is, when your hands are air-dried, they are actually even drier, especially if you wash them in warm water. Always have the cream somewhere close at hand so you can use it right after washing and applying the disinfectant gel. Choose those creams that are rich in oils and butter, and you will not regret it.
