Rules for wearing dark lipstick!
Women with lighter eyes should wear lipstick with a pink undertone. The shade is determined by the color of the eyes.
There are four undertones of burgundy color: pink, brown, blue and red. To detect the undertone of the lipstick, take an ordinary handkerchief with you to the drugstore and spread lipstick over it. On a white background, you will best see the contrast and color of the undertone.
If you have bright eyes, the color of Burgundy with a pink undertone will suit you perfectly. Because of this shade, your eyes will come to the fore even more.
A lipstick with a brown undertone will make brown eyes more striking.
The blue undertone on the burgundy lipsticks is not too bright or too dark and can be worn by women with dark and light eyes.
Red undertones don't really have to do with eye color as much as hair color, says make-up artist Sandy Linter. Dark-haired women look better with red lipstick, and on black and brunette women he is the best.
Since you have determined the undertone on the handkerchief, try the lipstick on yourself.
The basic rule - if the color ‘lifts’ you up is good for you, but if you look gloomy with it - give it up.
Dark lipsticks easily create a messy look and that is why they must be applied with a brush. Apply a little bit from the outer edges of the lips towards the middle. Apply the same on the lower and upper lip.
Since Burgundy colored pencils can be dominant and even distract from the lipstick itself, the make-up artist recommends applying it at the end. After applying the lipstick with a brush, line your lips with a pencil of the same color to create a neat look and prevent the lipstick from smearing. If the color of the pencil differs from the color of the rose, lightly brush it to match the lipstick.
Since this lipstick is very striking anyway, it doesn’t need gloss. You should be careful with it because it can make the whole look messy, so if you apply it, put it only in the middle of your lips.
