Where is Cate Blanchett now?

Cate Blanchett (52) is one of the highest-paid actresses in the world, and in 2007 and 2018 she was considered one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

On one occasion, she said that it is because she herself does not like to watch movies in which there are actors whose private life she knows well because it distracts her from the talent and acting skills of one person. She won an Oscar for her roles in " The Aviator" and "Blue Jasmine".

Cate is married to stage writer Andrew Upton. They met in 1996 on the set of a TV show, and they got married in December of the following year.

"We kept hanging out, and then one night we played poker and I don't know how, but somehow we ended up kissing. Three weeks later he proposed to me. It was the most romantic moment of my life," the actress said. The couple has four children, three sons, and one adopted daughter.

Cate gave birth to their first son, Dashiell John, in 2001, their second son, Roman, in 2004, and their third son, Ignatius Martin, in 2008. In 2015, the couple adopted a girl, Edith Vivian Patricia, and Cate said that since the birth of their first son, they wanted to adopt a child.

When she needs to get out of the character and become a mother again, the actress says that her children help her the most. "I need to feed the children, help them with homework and get them ready for bed in the evening. They are my strongest connection to reality."

Cate Blanchett is undoubtedly a star, but she is not typical in any way: she does not run for self-promotion, she does not fill the pages of tabloids with scandalous outbursts, and she does not change partners every hour, she hates selfies, she does not advertise on Twitter. She doesn't even live among filmmakers in Beverly Hills, but she first chose England as her permanent address, the coastal town of Brighton, then moved with her family to her native Australia, where she bought a house in Sydney to raise children away from the spoiled film world. Her family recently moved again to the UK, to an idyllic town in Sussex.
