Why did Richard Gere and Cindy Crawford break up?

Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere were one of the most famous couples, attracting attention at every turn, but not for each other.

Cindy Crawford, the famous model, belongs to the generation of the first supermodels, at the height of popularity in the 1990s, when she was a famous five with Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Christy Tarlington, and Linda Evangelist, and is still regarded as one of the most beautiful women in the world.

Although she has been married to Randy Gerber since 1998, with whom she has a daughter Kaja who is almost as popular as her mother and son Presley, Cindy's brief marriage to famous actor Richard Gere is not forgotten.

Cindy met Richard when she was 21 and married him when she was 25 in 1991. Richard is 17 years her senior, although this is their first marriage.

However, they never really fit in ...

Cindy said when she married him, he was 42, and she was 25. She was young and he was Richard Gere. They were together for six years and spent two years of marriage. When they met, they almost have to introduce themselves to each other. They are friends but they do not hang out... When she started to become the person she is today, it was too late to save the marriage.

In 1995, only four years after their wedding, they filed for divorce. The large age gap was only one of the reasons why this marriage did not work out.

Crawford and Gere first met at a star-studded BBQ at photographer Herb Ritts' home in 1988. Crawford was 22 at the time and was taken aback by the star gathering, particularly Gere. They married four years later, on the rare occasion, in Las Vegas, exchanging aluminum foil rings at the altar (since neither of them could afford the real thing – just joking, they got there by private jet, and the foil ring decision remains mystifying to this day).

The world-famous model retired from full-time modeling in 2000, however she still appears in editorials and runway shows on occasion. Crawford has altered her attention since "retiring," creating a furniture collection, writing an autobiography, and doubling down on her charitable efforts.
