Books are often considered life teachers, and the fact that this is true is confirmed by the titles on our list, especially for women.
All of them will show every woman that she is stronger than she thinks and that she can come out of any situation, no matter how difficult, as an even better person and thus be an example to those around her, especially young girls.
Cecelia Ahern: PS I love you
That sometimes the death of a spouse can hit us even more than our own illness, showed our beloved Holly in the world hit "PS I love you". The death of a loved one is one of the greatest pains a person can experience, and Holly was no exception.
After a love story from a fairy tale, the spell was abruptly interrupted by Gerry's illness, but as he knew he had little time left, he left 12 letters to his wife a year after his death to ease her grieving process. Although at first, it seems that Holly will never be old and that she died together with her beloved partner, she is learning step by step how to return to her life, how to enjoy the rays of the sun, a cup of coffee, how to get out of bed.
Michelle Obama: Becoming
The former American First Lady is one of those public figures we admire for a reason. A feminist from the very beginning, Michelle knew that the role of the First Lady implies wholehearted support for her husband and that the role itself exists because of the man. And while many other women who preceded her performed their role only figuratively, at unavoidable public appearances, usually an inch behind their husband's back, Michelle chose a different path - thus paving the way for many of her role models.
Quite frankly, in "Becoming", Michelle reveals the struggle for motherhood, disagreement with Barack's political ambitions, the experience of living under the pressure, and finally adjusting to a whole new life after two terms in the White House.
During her husband's tenure, she did her best to open the way to school for as many girls as possible, teach them how to respect themselves, and let them know that there are no dreams that cannot come true. With her approach to inclusion, she has become one of the most influential and beloved women of our time.
Simone de Beauvoir: The second sex
"The Second Sex" is certainly a book intended for more demanding and experienced readers, which is considered the basic literature of feminism, but these almost eight hundred pages are worth reading because they will help you look at your whole life from a different perspective. The book was first published back in 1949, when, of course, it caused outrage among men, but also some women. But it is the most important women's book of all time.
The author seeks comprehensive discussions on the position of women in society throughout history, the challenges of marriage and motherhood, and the possibility for women to choose whether or not to become mothers and wives, sexuality, virginity, women's work, and many other topics.
Along with these and other very important questions and answers, Simone came to the conclusion that a woman is not born, but becomes a woman. At the end of her book, she gives clear guidelines on how to break free from the shackles of patriarchy and be a self-aware and free woman who will do in life only what she chooses. Ultimately, it shows that there is nothing that women cannot survive.
Rachel Hollis: Girl, wash your face!
A slightly different and humorous book is definitely “Girl, wash your face”, by Rachel Hollis, one of the world's most famous bloggers. Each of us faces problems, feels worthless, defeated by life, but the author discovers how to deal with it and lists practical strategies that have helped her.
Most importantly, she emphasizes that a woman must do everything in her power to become the happy and confident woman she has always wanted to be. Life is there to live it to the fullest, regardless of all the side roads, thorns, and stones we encounter. And if a woman can do something, then it is sure to come out even stronger from every difficult story she finds herself in.
