A trick that will help you not to give up walking even when you're freezing

Namely, there is no bad time for a walk, but only inappropriate clothing. That is why it is important to adjust your wardrobe and walk without fear that you will spend hours leaning on the radiator after returning home.

So here are tips on how to dress for walking in the colder part of the year thanks to which you will not give up your favorite activity throughout the year.

DRESS LAYERED

The first rule of walking in the colder part of the year is to put on layers that will protect you from the cold, wind, and even rain if necessary.

THE THREE LAYERS YOU NEED ARE:

1. Base layer

Any clothing that directly touches your body should be made of a fabric that draws moisture from the skin and prevents you from feeling sticky. Polyester is a good choice.

2. Insulation layer

This layer can be a shirt or vest that you can easily take off if it gets too hot for you and put on again if you feel cold.

3. Outer layer resistant to wind and water

If walking is a serious form of activity in your life that you do regularly, get a jacket for the colder times of the year that will protect you from wind and water. Additional protection will be provided by a jacket with a hood.

MATERIALS

For walks in the cold, it is good to have clothes made of water-permeable materials, and not cotton or a mixture of cotton, because such materials retain sweat, which can make you even colder.

FOOTWEAR

In the colder part of the year, it is essential that your feet stay warm and dry during the walk. One option is flexible athletic footwear that is wind and water-resistant. Another option is light hiking boots or waterproof running shoes.

Choose shoes with a flexible sole so that your feet will not have to struggle with every step.

HEAD, NECK, EARS

Covering the head helps keep the whole body warm. In addition to covering your head, you also want the rest of your body to be warm and comfortable from the neck up. Here, a classic scarf can help you, but also other options such as a buff, a neck warmer, or a tube-shaped fabric that is pulled over the head.

GLOVES

Like the feet, the fingers are sensitive to frostbite. To protect them from the cold, wear gloves when walking in low temperatures. Choose windproof models.

OBLIGATORY ADDITION - WATER BOTTLE

You need water in winter as much as in summer. So be sure to bring a bottle with you if you go for long walks.
