Adele reveals that she works out three times a day, experts warn: 'It can have big consequences'

In a recent interview with Vogue, Adele admitted that she works out 2-3 times a day.

"It was because of my anxiety. Working out, I would just feel better. It was never about losing weight. I thought, ‘If I can make my body physically strong, and I can feel that and see that, then maybe one day I can make my emotions and my mind physically strong," said Adele (33).

"I got quite addicted to it. I work out two or three times a day…I do my weights in the morning, then I normally hike or I box in the afternoon, and then I go and do my cardio at night. I was basically unemployed when I was doing it. And I do it with trainers," the famous singer added.

Numerous experts believe that this is normal, but many are concerned that the singer has been exercising two to three times a day for the last three years, non-stop.

"Maintaining a moderate exercise routine is an essential component of leading a healthy lifestyle,” medical expert John Whyte told the New York Post. But working out two to three times a day is way too much.”

"The gym became my time," Adele told Vogue, adding that she did not use any special diet, but a rigorous schedule of cardio and strength training.

At her request, personal trainer Gregg Miele raised the intensity of the exercises to an even higher level despite the singer having had major back problems for years.

"In addition to the risk of sustaining overuse injuries and stress fractures, too much exercise over time will begin to feel like a job rather than a pleasure, and that can reduce the joy we get from it," experts agree.
