All you need to know about amazing Iris Apfel

Although the world media often describes her as the world's oldest living teenager, Iris is actually an extremely wise lady behind her lucid color print outfits, oversized round black glasses, and cheerful expressions. Especially when it is necessary to define the term "personal style", which today, unfortunately, has become a generalization of mass trends. Although, this fact should not surprise us when we take into account that this highly esteemed woman became a legendary fashion icon for a reason, who turned one hundred last year. 

Born in August 1921, Iris Apfel is characterized primarily as an American businesswoman and interior designer who, with her husband Karl, had an enviable career in the textile industry from 1950 to 1992, but also known for her design contract with the White House, which included as many as nine presidential seats from Truman through Kennedy, Nixon to Clinton. She studied art history at the prestigious New York University but started working in interior design at a young age.

Today, Iris is a symbol of feminine strength and inspiration from many angles, not to mention glorified manifestos such as the fact that in 2005 the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York made an exhibition called Rare Bird: The Irreverent Iris Apfel, which was attended by names like the greats Giorgio Armani and Karl Lagerfeld. 

As well as being the first woman to adorn the content of Vogue Italia at the age of 91, photographed by the famous photographer Bruce Weber, she was also the inspiration for numerous art exhibitions, as well as a topic for several fashion coffee-table books and documentaries. Although we personally prefer the black principle of dressing with the mantra that behind black clothes stands the galactic color inner world, we cannot dispute the wisely lucid fashion attitudes shared with us by this icon that proves that age is just a number.
