Andy Garcia: The life of a great Cuban-born actor
Andy Garcia's life story cannot be classified as ordinary!
Photographers and fans waited patiently for Andy Garcia, now a 66-year-old actor, to finish filming the show and appear in front of a studio in New York. His fame does not diminish, although there is no scandal that we would associate with this actor from Cuba.
Ever since he conquered the world twenty years ago with the role of Sonny Corleone's illegitimate son, Vincent Mancini, in "Godfather 3", the popularity of the Hollywood actor of Cuban origin, Andy Garcia, has not diminished. He is also praised by film critics and fans, especially women who are still fascinated by his timeless charm and the image of a seducer that accompanies him throughout his career.
Andres Arturo Garcia Menendez, as his real name is, was born as a conjoined twin, with a parasitic twin brother on his left shoulder who was later surgically removed. He was five years old when, after the crisis in the Bay of Pigs, during the American invasion of his homeland, he came to America with his family. Garcia's parents did well in America and made a fortune. This enabled Andy to study in Florida, where he enrolled at the National School of Dramatic Arts and played in the theater until 1978 when he moved to Hollywood.

He came to the city of the film with the ambition to become a star, but like many, he started his career in a restaurant. Although he worked as a waiter, that did not stop him from regularly participating in auditions for film roles. He had his first roles in low-budget films, but that was only an introduction to the greater success of this actor who became famous in the second half of the 1980s. He achieved his first major success in 1987 with "The Untouchables" with Kevin Costner, and the films "Blood Money", "Godfather 3", "Black Rain", and "Things to do in Denver when you are Dead", made him an action actor. In 1990, he was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "The Godfather 3", in which he plays the character of Vincent Mancini.
"Some of the greatest directors I've worked with so far, including Francis Ford Coppola, believe their actors and have unlimited trust in them. Although they have their own vision, they allow things to develop on their own," Garcia said.
When he became a star in Hollywood, he decided to found a production company, with the help of which he made several films related to his origins. One of the most important roles in the series of these films was the main role in the film "The Disappearance of Garcia Lorca", a story about a journalist who tries to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a famous poet who disappeared soon after the Spanish Civil War in the 1930s. Since 1981, he has been married to Marivi Lorido Garcia, with whom he has four children.
