Bethesda Launcher Is Discontinued: Date Is Set

The Bethesda Launcher will be phased out on May 11th, with the handover beginning on April 27th. You may migrate your content after May 11th if you like, but operations will cease on that date.

After a little delay, it is officially confirmed that the Bethesda launcher will be discontinued on May 11th. Microsoft had previously stated that the launcher would be phased out following the Zenimax acquisition.

The games have been transferred to Steam. Customers can begin moving their accounts on April 27, but they should still be able to do so beyond May 11. Any remaining credit in the Bethesda Launcher will be transferred to the Steam Wallet as well.

The Bethesda account, as well as the information and services linked with it, will remain in place. This ensures that you can continue to use it after the switch; in games, you must log in using this account.

Saved games should be transferred automatically if at all possible. It will not always be possible, though, and on April 27th, a FAQ will be issued that will walk you through all of the stages. Wolfenstein: Youngblood appears to be the only game in which game progress cannot be transferred.

It is to be hoped that the transition would proceed as smoothly as many past transfers. Shivers will be felt by at least one Minecraft player as a result of the modification. In addition, if you have duplicate games, consider switching them to a new Steam account.

The move is fairly intriguing on Microsoft's behalf, and it raises the question of how other initiatives will proceed. Of course, because Mojang accounts are also being converted to Microsoft accounts, the question of what will happen to Battle.net after the acquisition is confirmed and finalized arises.

A total of 90 titles have now been removed from the market, including Rainbow Six: Vegas, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, numerous Just Dance components, and Assassin's Creed 2. As a result, these games are no longer available to play online. However, offline functions are still available.

Turning off internet connectivity, however, has an impact on more than just the ability to play these games in multiplayer mode. For the earlier titles, any news features and player statistics are no longer available. If the games used Ubisoft Connect, earning Units through challenges for those titles will no longer be possible.

Rewards for titles that have been disabled can still be unlocked. Users will, however, no longer be able to obtain them in-game. All prizes will be unlocked automatically if the relevant game was not transferred while migrating from Uplay to Ubisoft Connect in 2020.

Unlockable material, such as additional maps or skins, has also been disabled. It primarily impacts PC players in this case. Even if previously redeemed, ULC will no longer be available on PC. Unless they reset their saved game data, console users will still be able to access the material.
