EA could end up in the hands of Amazon

The acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft has not gone unnoticed, and it appears that it has prompted EA to seek a buyer. Nothing appears to have been finalized, but the source claims that the American company has already begun conversations with many potential purchasers, including Disney, Amazon, Apple, and Comcast-NBCUniversal.

As previously said, there is still no definitive answer. It is said that EA made good progress in the negotiations with Comcast-NBCUniversal, but things did not come to fruition due to price and structure differences, since in theory the CEO of Comcast proposed a merger and wanted to have the majority control, so right now all options are open, and EA could end up in the hands of any of the first three companies that we have named, that is, Apple, Amazon, or Disney.

Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of this information is not so much the fact that EA is seeking a buyer as it is the persistence with which it is doing so. As We mentioned at the start of the article, Microsoft's purchase of Activision Blizzard would be the driving force behind this insistence. Perhaps EA recognizes the need for someone to buy it once Microsoft's acquisition is complete in order to boost its position and competition.

Of the three names on the table right now, We believe Apple, particularly for what it could mean to have a powerhouse like EA among its ranks to bolster its services unit, and specifically Apple Arcade, although We believe Amazon could also take it out quite a game.

If you're wondering why Microsoft and Sony haven't gotten on the EA bandwagon, the reason is easy. The Redmond behemoth already has an open front with Activision Blizzard, and acquiring EA might place it directly in the crosshairs of the main free-market regulatory organizations.

Sony, on the other hand, has fewer resources than Microsoft and a lower market capitalization than EA, so it is evident that it could not fund a buy operation without resorting to a sophisticated amalgamation of financing mechanisms. We believe that Apple or Amazon will end up with the company if it maintains in its search for a buyer, however, keep in mind that all doors (except Comcast-NBCUniversal) are currently open.
