Billie Eilish spoke about Tourette's syndrome

Musician Billie Eilish, 20, guest-starred in a new episode of the Netflix series "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction" with David Letterman and spoke about Tourette's syndrome. The young musician had just started a conversation on this topic during the show. At one point Billie made a strange movement with her head and mouth, and the host asked her, 'What happened to you? A fly flew into your mouth ?' to which she replied that she had tics that were caused by lighting in this case.

'If you film me long enough, you'll see a lot of tics. It's very strange, I didn't talk about it at all. The most common reaction people get to it is laughter because they think I’m trying to be funny. And it always offends me a lot and I always say in the end: 'I have Tourette's syndrome','- said Billie and revealed that she has met a lot of people who are struggling with a similar problem.

'I'm very confused by this disorder and I don't understand it. I was diagnosed when I was 11 years old. As a child, I had milder tics, but they changed over time' the musician added and explained that there are better and worse periods, but that tics never stop completely. Tourette's syndrome is a rare disorder of the nervous system that begins in childhood and involves repetitive movements or unwanted sounds that cannot be controlled. Some of the tics are raising eyebrows, tensing the muscles in the arm and jaw movements, and in some cases, a person may utter insulting words and swear words uncontrollably.

Recall, Billie started creating very early. However, the first song she wrote, which made her successful, was written when the singer was only 13 years old.

Billie started learning to sing at the age of seven when she joined the children’s choir. Exactly that, as well as the performances she had with the choir, influenced her to start singing. She also made the decision not to eat meat or dairy products, and the reason for that is that she is worried about the way the animals are treated. She often posts on her social networks things related to this topic.
