TikTok is introducing "History of Watching"
The social network, or more specifically, the popular platform for showcasing TikTok content, is bringing something new. It is no longer the turn of features such as extended content creation time or new filters, but it does bring something that should have been available to us a long time ago.
How many times have you watched a TikTok video without "liking," commenting on it, or following the creator? You can't recall who made the video, but you remember what it was about.
It appears that the pain over these issues on TikTok has ended. Specifically, a new feature called "History of watching" is being developed, the name of which will tell us everything. That is, once the Watch History is accessible, we will be able to simply search all of the content that has been released on FYP and we have only briefly looked through it.
For the time being, it is unclear when this feature will be available and in which places it will initially be tested, but we anticipate that we will not have to wait long. Hammod Oh, a Twitter user, hinted at this by sharing a message on his profile in which he provides data on the Watching History that should be available on TikTok shortly.
Various would recognize his name since he is a man who from time to time "discovers" some aspects (often upcoming) of famous social networks, and after a given period of time, of course, it becomes true.
Now it's TikTok's turn, and we're not sure when the Watch History will be available on all of our profiles. The Watch History is expected to be moved to the " Content and Activity " part of the Ticket Settings menu.
According to rumors, this function is being tested, but it is only available to a small group of users, which would imply that it is only available to the developers and testers of this globally popular site.
We're not sure when the rest of us "ordinary mortals" will be able to access the stuff. We have a history of watching it, but we believe that testing will not take too long. Oh also uploaded a screenshot with the inscription "Viewing History" within the Twitter post, indicating how this feature is also referenced in the thick phase of development, i.e. how long ago it stepped into it.
Would you use TikTok, or will viewing history (once available) be valuable to you? We'll argue it won't be long until rival Instagram offers something similar, or before Facebook doesn't do the "same thing" with its Stories features as Instagram.
