Cayin Soul-170I: tube amp with 2 x 130 watts
The Chinese are now demonstrating that they can do it with a lot of power. Cayin Soul-170I is the name of the company's most recent integrated amplifier model, which produces a lot of power for a tube amp thanks to two KT170 Power Tubes per channel.
More specifically, the Soul-170I generates an astounding 130 watts in ultra-linear mode and 75 watts in triode mode with its beam pentode. And while we're on the subject of tube assemblies, the 22DE4 is employed as a tube rectifier for the power supply of the input driver stage, which is outfitted with ECC83S and 6SN7.
The Soul-170I, like all Cayin products, has two operating modes: triode and ultra-linear. According to Thomas Deyerling, Cayin's sales manager in Germany, the differences are as follows: "The triode mode sounds delicate, harmonic, soft, and sensitive."
As a result, it is perfect for both vocal and instrumental music. Ultralinear mode provides powerful and precise playback. This works well with music that has a lot of punch and dynamics."
Cayin, as is widely known, manufactures and develops the output transformer itself. It is a multi-layer complicated winding with good impedance matching for the attached loudspeakers. The circuit's point-to-point wiring and high-quality components, such as Alps volume controls or chosen capacitors or carbon film resistors of the highest audio quality, are also characteristic.
The Cayin Soul-170i is now available for 8,563 USD in the Cayin online store and in specialist shops.
