The United States Supreme Court overturned a 50-year-old ruling that legalized abortion across the country. The public was upset, and many celebrities publicly criticized the decision. The American public is definitely appalled by the latest court decision overturning a decision to legalize abortion across the United States.

Former first lady Michelle Obama was among the first to express her dissatisfaction. ‘Today, my heart is broken because of the people in the country who have just lost their fundamental right to make decisions about their own body,’ . Those words are just a part of a statement she posted on social media.

Famous singer Taylor Swift also reacted, saying she was horrified by the move. 'I am absolutely horrified that this is where we are - that after so many decades of people fighting for women's rights to their own bodies, today's decision has stripped us of that. I am shocked and sad,' she wrote.

American actress and producer Viola Davis briefly said that now is the time to use the voice and power of the people. 'And that's how it goes ... Now more than ever we have to use our voice and power,' she said.

Actress Elizabeth Banks said it was devastating news for families, women and men. ‘This is devastating news for families, women, and men who believe the government should not decide when and with whom to become parents. I am sure that this is not the end of this fight for human rights. '

Comedian and actress Aisha Tyler also agreed with her colleagues.'This is a dark day in American history. The Supreme Court destroyed women's right to choose. The result will ruin women’s lives, make children and families poorer, increase the financial burden on men, and disrupt the U.S. economy. This is a terrible tragedy for all of us, 'she wrote.

Almost the same opinion is shared by other celebrities such as host Andy Cohen, actor Seth MacFarlane, Cyndi Lauper and many others.
