Coming soon: Spy comedy "Argylle"
The film is full of action, humor, and unexpected twists.
Apple Original Films recently released the first trailer for the long-awaited film "Argylle" directed by Matthew Vaughn. In this movie, the main roles are played by Henry Cavill, John Cena, and Dua Lipa.
It is an action thriller in which Cavill, Cena, and Dua Lipa become international spies. The plot is based on the upcoming novel by Elly Conway, whose character will also appear in the film. It is known that Bryce Dallas Howard will play her.
What can we expect?
The plot follows a skilled spy who suffers from amnesia and he is led to believe that he is actually a successful author specialized in spy novels.
But, interestingly, one of the main roles went to singer Dua Lipa. For her, this is also her first feature film. Although she recently played a role in the popular movie "Barbie", the role of a spy in "Argylle" is her first professional role since the teaser for the movie was released back in March last year. In the trailer, it is possible to see her on the dance floor, and riding a motorbike before being stopped by John Cena.
In addition to Dua Lipa, Henry Cavill, John Cena, and Bryce Dallas Howard, the film also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Ariana DeBose, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O'Hara, Sam Rockwell, Sofia Boutella, and a cat named Chip ( borrowed from Claudia Schiffer). The movie “Argylle” will be released on February 2, 2024, and distributed by Universal Pictures. It will be posted on Apple TV later.
The official synopsis of the film reveals the plot in more detail:
"The greater the spy, the bigger the lie.
From the twisted mind of Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman franchise, Kick-Ass) comes Argylle, a razor-witted, reality-bending, globe-encircling spy thriller.
Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World franchise) is Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. But when the plots of Elly’s fictional books—which center on secret agent Argylle and his mission to unravel a global spy syndicate—begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past."
