CPU-Z 2.0, as useful as ever

CPU-Z 2.0, one of the most popular tools for obtaining information on the characteristics and performance of the processor and main components installed in a PC, has been released by the developer CPUID.

Version 2.00 makes no changes to the user interface, which has remained unaltered for years. Neither its ease of use nor its low cost: it is completely free. The good news is that it is now more compatible with new processor platforms. This features compatibility for Intel's latest 12th generation "Alder Lake-U" and "Alder Lake-P" mobile processors, as well as Core i9-12900KS and Ryzen 7 5800X3D desktop CPUs.

There is also preliminary support for AMD's Ryzen 6000 "Rembrandt" series mobile processors, as well as the latest generations of lower-performance Pentium Gold and Celeron processors at 15 and 9 watts. More news comes from the improved detection of the SPD of the RAM memory (data connected to the module), as well as the resolution of an error related to the AMD CCX/CCD topology, in addition to the regular rectification of known errors of each version.

This little application serves as a reference for benchmarks, which are software tools that do performance evaluations and comparisons of computer equipment or components such as CPU, GPU, RAM, SSD, and so on. In addition to knowing its level of performance, they are useful for checking its operation in the event of errors or when practicing overclocking techniques, and they usually offer detailed technical information on the product in question, which is essential for updating the PC as we recently saw on the Time to upgrade RAM.

In terms of processors, CPU-Z 2.0 is one of the most comprehensive. It is simple to use and free, and it provides comprehensive information about the processor and its features, the motherboard and chipset components, the RAM, and the graphics card. It also provides a CPU comparison with other models, including performance per core and multi-core.

It includes a validation tool that uploads your results to the Internet and generates an internal TXT file containing all of the information. CPUID has versions for Windows and Android, as well as a general edition for any PC and others tailored to the major motherboard series on the market, such as ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, or ASRock. Its use is as simple as downloading and running the executable/ZIP file. Very helpful. CPU-Z 2.0 Download
