Croque-Monsieur: The best French sandwich

Croque comes from the word bite, and Monsieur means gentleman. If you think it means nothing, then realistically it doesn't mean anything in France either. Therefore, it is not known exactly how this name was created.

Ingredients:
- 8 slices of toast bread
- 200 grams of ham
- 200 grams of cheese, eg mentaler (or any cheese that melts easily)
For béchamel:
- 400 milliliters of milk 2.8%
- 40 grams of smooth flour
- 40 grams butter
First prepare the bechamel sauce, put the butter on low heat until it melts. Add flour and mix for 1-2 minutes.
Add cold milk at once and stir constantly, when it boils, cook for another minute.
Add pepper as desired.
Croque-monsieur:
Put a little bechamel sauce on each piece of bread. Add the ham, then the grated cheese, and cover with a piece of bread. Put more bechamel sauce over it, then more grated cheese.
Bake in the oven.
