Documentary about the rover on Mars
Good night Oppy...
"Goodnight Oppy" is ready to invade your home and demonstrate how you can emotionally get over a robot.
"Goodnight Oppy," an Amazon Original Films documentary about the Mars rover, finally appeared on Amazon's Prime Video streaming service, just in time for holiday viewing.
This heartbreaking yet inspiring documentary, directed by Ryan White ("Ask Dr. Ruth," "The Keepers") in association with Peter Berg, Film 45, and Amblin Television, tells the true story of the survival of Opportunity, NASA's iconic rover sent to Mars on a revolutionary 90-day mission that lasted beyond all measure and hope for nearly 15 years.
Goodnight Oppy is an homage to the tireless wheeled machine and the human engineers and scientists who were passionately connected to Opportunity over its incredible journey across the Red Planet's terrain.
"Goodnight Oppy," narrated by Academy Award winner Angela Bassett, recounts the friendship built with Steve Squyres, JPL's main investigator for the MER mission, and the entire ground team in California. Featuring archival NASA film, new interviews with top NASA engineers, and dazzling CGI magic from Industrial Light & Magic.
More news from Mars...
The Seismological and Meteorological Station, which has been carrying out scientific research on Mars since the end of 2018, is very likely to send its last bit of data to Earth these days.
The mission of the InSight lander on Mars appears to be coming to a conclusion after four years and 1,445 Martian days. Since November 2018, NASA's probe has been there.
She bore into the ground, analyzed weather conditions, recorded earthquakes and asteroid impacts on the planet's surface, captured sounds, and generally provided scientists with a wealth of fresh information about Mars.
In May of this year, it was announced that InSight's robotic arm would be placed in the "retirement position", so it took a farewell selfie before its last movement .
