The series is based on the famous adventure novel Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne, first published in 1873. In the hit series "Around the World in 80 Days" we have David Tennant in the lead role.

The main story happens in London, in 1872. This year is important because one day a postcard from a lost love turns David's (Phileas') life upside down. Phileas Fogg (David Tennant), inspired by an article about exciting new achievements in transportation, will accept a bet to do the impossible. He will travel around the world in just 80 days.

Some things will change. He spent the last twenty years in a comfortable leather armchair at the Reform Club, but this time he will have to be bolder and more durable than ever.

And, of course, he wouldn't be able to do anything without the help of the cunning Frenchman, Passepartout ( Ibrahim Koma ). On the way, they will be joined by Abigail Fix ( Leonie Benesch ), a reporter for the Daily Telegraph, who came up with this crazy idea.

What can we expect?

The action of the first episode begins in London in 1872. When an anonymous postcard shakes Phileas Fogg, he makes a bet that he can go around the world in 80 days. Together with the servant Jean Passepartout and the journalist Abigail Fix, he goes to Paris.

In Italy, the trio meets an arrogant Italian industrialist, a bully who awakens Fogg's greatest insecurities. When they find themselves in mortal danger, can he stop doubting himself and save the day?
