Electric motor with a wheel without a hub
Verge Motorcycles, a Finnish business, is poised to begin manufacturing one of the most innovative electric motorcycles to hit the market. The rear wheel on the TS model is distinctive in that it lacks hubs. An intriguing movie demonstrates how TS works. The TS model's charge-free layout is both simple and complex.
The back tire houses the electric motor. The middle section of the system is supported by a swinging fork, while the outside section revolves around rails.
The rim also has electromagnets that repel each other when the motor is turned on, causing the outer half of the rim to revolve and propel the motor ahead. While a wheel with a hole in the middle is unique, this design option offers two purposes: it can increase cooling and reduce bulk density.
Furthermore, the lack of a chain, belt, or gearbox, according to the manufacturer, makes the TS incredibly efficient - the engine can produce a respectable 107 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque.
In terms of performance, the TS has a top speed of 180 km/h and a range of 300 km, with 200 km in the city and 300 km on the highway. Of course, such a motorcycle will be expensive. It costs $ 23,681, which is not excessive given that it is the first model of its sort. Production is expected to begin this year.
