Everyone is commenting on Prince George’s birthday photo

As is customary, Kensington Palace has released a new photo of little Prince George celebrating his eighth birthday today. He was photographed, as in all the years so far, by his mother Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge.

The photo was taken earlier this month at Anmer Hall, Norfolk, where the Cambridges have an estate donated to them by Queen Elizabeth II after the weddingand where they spend most of the summer.

George is adorned with a wide smile, he wears a dark blue polo shirt with orange stripes (supposedly the price is around fifteen dollars), which is a kind of trademark of his wardrobe. He is sitting on a Land Rover Defender, with a flower meadow in the background. Reportedly, the Land Rover is pictured as a kind of tribute to the boy’s great-grandfather, Prince Philip, who passed away on April 9, and he adored those British four-wheelers and enjoyed driving them until his late teens.

George, a blond boy with blue eyes, is as cute as in all his birthday photos so far, and he received a lot of congratulations and nice messages on social media.

Another tradition on the birthday of the third in line to the British throne has not been left out - a debate about who George looks most like.

- Same as his dad! - Many fans wrote. Others say the prince is seen to be a true Windsor, but believe he is not his father's spitting image, but that he looks more like some of his other cousins. They consider George to be the “true image and opportunity” of his great-great-grandfather with whom he shares the name of George VI, father of Queen Elizabeth II.

Others add that the prince is more like the great-great-grandfather of Edward VIII. who abdicated so he could marry the American Wallis Simpson.

"They have the same smiles," a royalist wrote on Twitter, pulling a picture of George VI and Edward VIII from the archives while they were children. Finally, among the congratulators were those who feel that George increasingly resembles his grandfather  Michael Middleton, Kate Middleton's father.

There is not much information about what the celebration will be like in Anmer Hall, but the British media assume that it will be modest and simple. But unlike last year and lockdown time, along with George, his parents William and Kate, sister Charlotte and brother Louis, some close friends of the Cambridges could enjoy tea and cakes this year.
