EXPERIENCE THE LUXURY OF THE ISLAND OF CAPRI

Hotel La Palma, considered the first hotel on the glamorous island, was originally built in 1822 and operated during the la dolce vita period on the Amalfi Coast.

Last year, the Oetker Collection bought the famous Hotel La Palma on Capri. Since they bought it, the hotel has been transformed by Oetker and its owners, the Reuben brothers. The German hotel group has now announced that it will officially open the doors of the reconstructed resort on July 1.

The 50-room hotel is the first to be designed by British interior designer Francis Sultana, who has collaborated on the project with local Italian artisans. Located just a few steps from the famous square, the Piazzetta, Hotel now has 30 rooms less, of which 18 were suites. Although the number of rooms has been reduced, all are designed very luxuriously and have a private balcony or terrace.

The hotel has been joined by Michelin-starred celebrity chef Gennaro Esposito, who now runs a restaurant, bar, and terrace serving authentic Italian dishes. For entertainment, you’ll find another restaurant and bar called Bianca - also run by Esposito - on the roof of the hotel overlooking Capri and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The fun doesn't stop there.

The brand new terrace of Hotel La Palma has an elegant pool bar that pays homage to the “classic Capri of the Golden Age”. Guests will also have access to La Palma Beach Club, located outside the Piccola Marina, an area along the south coast of Capri that houses the island’s most famous beaches and restaurants. Here guests are welcome to enjoy lazy lunches created by Esposito and the crazy night scene.

If you are attracted to relaxing activities, the spa will be more than a pleasant experience. The space contains three treatment rooms, including one apartment for couples. There is also a sauna, steam bath, ice shower, relaxation area, and an on-site fitness center that will surely alleviate any stress you carry from "real life".

Fans of hotels before the Oetker era will notice that the Sultana added shades of Mediterranean blue, green, and turquoise to the interiors and installed custom lighting, as well as upholstered furniture designed exclusively for the hotel. Similar custom details can be found in the bedrooms, which are designed to be "home away from home" with unique furniture, carpets, and lighting. Large palm trees have also been added to the hotel's interiors as a sign of Capri's love affair with these plants.
