Fake it till you make it!|Simu Liu

When you lie in your CV, but you still get the job- level pro. Liu openns up about 'Exaggerating' His Martial-Arts Skills get a role.

Simu opened up about embellishing his martial art skills to get the part in Shang-Ch and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He said he was always more of a dancer than a martial artist.

the 32-year-old Marvel star admitted he did not have the skills that his character trained his entire life. He did ``dabble`` as a stuntman, occasionally, but, dance was more his thing than fighting.

However, he did not disappoint. As soon as he got cast he started training and learning how to move. He had multiple trainers and he improved his flexibility too, but in the process, he felt like his limbs will be torn apart in training sessions.

Liu also touched on working with Tony Leung (whom he calls "the GOAT") and Michelle Yeoh, who play Shang-Chi's father and aunt, respectively, in the superhero film.

According to Liu, Leung, 59, and Yeoh, 59, are "very different people, but" both possess "an aura of warmth and friendliness."

He said that Tony is very shy and very kind. He also said that Tony is so well mannered and humble that you would never guess how famous he is if you met him. But, when the camera rolls, he becomes a completely different person. 'Holy crap. I'm literally watching mastery unfold,' " he shared.

One thing that surprised Liu about Leung is how "of an adrenaline junkie" he is. He said that Leung loves to go snowboarding and he simply lives for watersports, and other extreme sports. “ He just loves it. And I kind of love that."

As for Yeoh, Liu was surprised by her goofiness. He shared that she is completely different from the roles she plays. On-screen, she is a bad-ass, her characters don’t take anything from anyone. Of course, she is a badass in real life too, but, a goofball badass, as Liu said. She likes to make funny faces and make it easy for others to stay relaxed on the set.

Simu was born in Harbin, China, but moved to Canada when he was 5. If you missed that piece of info, Liu was an accountant before getting into acting. He hated his job, and we are so glad he did not hesitate to go for his dream! , Even though he was in serious debt, as he invested more than he had to pursue the carrier he wanted, he did not give up. Liu moved to Hollywood, and that cost him a lot, but, in the end, he made his dreams come true. Simu started as an extra then he worked as a stuntman. Later he was finally noticed.  He played Jung Kim in the CBC Television sitcom Kim's Convenience. For his work in  Blood and Water, he was nominated for  ACTRA Awards and Canadian Screen Awards. His carrier took off and now he is in the big league, and as it seems he is here to stay!
