Perry posted a tweet yesterday, July 4, on America's Independence Day, in which she mentioned a line from her 2010 hit Firework. The singer wrote: ' Baby you're a firework is a 10 but women in the US have fewer rights than an actual sparkler'.

Some fans called her a hypocrite because just a month ago she publicly supported Rick Caruso, who opposes abortion, in the race for mayor of Los Angeles.
'This is the ultimate in celebrity activism. You're tweeting this kind of nonsense a month after voicing your support for a billionaire running for mayor who has donated millions of dollars to anti-abortion candidates,' wrote one user.
Other of her followers on Twitter wrote that it was "disappointing", that Caruso was against everything the singer stood for, and one user wrote that he found all this "disgusting".
Recall, that Katy put an end to speculations about the alleged crisis she is going through with her partner Orlando Bloom, which arose after she was seen in public without her engagement ring. In addition, the singer attended the Met Gala without Orlando, which was another reason to raise a real storm in public.
However, the singer removed all doubts when she was a guest on the podcast 'Dear Chelsea' when she talked about her fiancé. She first said that people often ask her "what Orlando is using", because of his positivity.
Katy and Orlando began seeing each other in 2016, only to end their relationship after a year. At the beginning of 2018, they gave themselves a new chance, and on Valentine's Day 2019, they got engaged.
