Gisele Bündchen: 3 rules for happy life!

In addition to being incredibly beautiful and planetarily successful, Gisele Bündchen is also a woman who has really found a happy balance in life, between the pressures of public life, the fashion universe, and all the challenges that life throws at us.

From a diary she recorded for years, Gisele began compiling a book a couple of years ago that came out in 2018 and became an instant bestseller. She was talking about these three seemingly simple rules for health and happiness, which we may not be able to fully adopt, but we can at least learn something:

1. Balancing morning ritual

Every morning Gisele gets up around 5 or 6 am to the sounds of the ocean calming her. Preparations for the day begin with a fifteen-minute rinse of the oral cavity with coconut oil, which is an Ayurvedic recipe that cleans teeth and gums. After taking the dogs for a walk, she meditates for five minutes to soak up the new day and sips warm water with half a lemon while preparing a school meal for the children.

She also tries to prepare a healthy breakfast for the family every morning, and if she can't finish it due to her busy schedule, she drinks green juice of celery, cucumber, apple, turmeric, ginger, and lemon. It is true that we do not all have the privilege of being waked up by the sounds of the waves, but what we can learn from Gisele is the importance of enjoying the silence of the morning, a little solitude to start the day, and the value of every moment we take to simply take care of our body.

2. Exercise as a source of good mood

After separating from her family as a very young woman to pursue a stressful career, Gisele found a method to achieve inner peace through yoga and meditation, thus she used these tricks to calm anxiety attacks. She first found a teacher who suited her, began teaching pranayama breathing and practicing meditation and yoga which she says helps her to be a more tolerant person and more self-aware. Just thirty minutes of meditation helps her achieve clarity of thoughts, make decisions and find peace in them.

Being an active person by nature, Gisele loves to surf, ski, bike, swim and is a big fan of Pilates, kick-boxing, and art, but most of all she loves dancing. ‘Nature is the most powerful teacher and healer,’ says Gisele, who spends a lot of time right outside, especially when she is at home in Costa Rica.

If we treat exercise as an obligation that burdens us or punishment for those two muffins we ate last night, there aren’t those endorphins that will make us activate regularly. But it may be enough to take the dog for a long walk, spend more time at sea or just start the day with half an hour of dancing to our favorite guilty pleasure hits.

3. The power of a healthy diet

I think looking good and having beautiful skin has the most to do with what we eat, how we live, and how we feel. If we maintain the health of our insides, it will be seen on our exterior, on our complexion - and there is nothing more beautiful for me. '

Gisele did the biggest interventions on her own diet to put an end to the anxiety that was bothering her. She first dropped her sugar for three months and noticed that her energy levels were rising and her mood was stabilizing. It was a discovery for her, so she continued to explore how shifts in her diet can help her influence how she feels, in which she pays most attention to energy and balance.

With her family, she mostly consumes seasonal fruits and vegetables, local and organic, which she orders on a weekly basis, while he ingests animal proteins through meat twice a month and fish or seafood once a week. She also eats chocolate for dessert almost every day.

Sometimes in the desire to change habits we push ourselves with a billion small changes that accumulate into an endless mass that no normal person can implement from today to tomorrow. Let’s learn from Gisele how to take small steps and listen to our bodies.
