Great benefits of plant-based milk

Plant-based milk is an increasingly popular substitute for cow's milk, both among people who are lactose intolerant or allergic to cow's milk protein, and among those who want to eat healthier.

In recent years, plant-based drinks, have become increasingly popular. There are almost no stores where they are not available and they are part of many recipes.

Vegetable milk is rich in vitamins and minerals, and most of them have a lower fat content. They do not contain cholesterol and are a healthy combination of mono and polyunsaturated fatty acids and are a perfect choice for people who have a slower digestive tract.

What is the best choice?

Soy milk is often described as the best substitute for cow's milk because it has a similar consistency and ratio of protein and fat, while almond milk is rich in magnesium, iron, protein, and fiber. Coconut milk is known for strengthening the immune system, it is creamy and tasty, and rice is very sweet and suitable for preparing desserts, although it contains less protein and calcium than cow's milk. Oat milk is also very popular because it lowers cholesterol and glucose, strengthens immunity, has a preventive effect on heart disease, works wonders for skin and hair ... Whichever you choose, you won't go wrong!

How are they made?

Soy milk

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams of raw soybeans in grain
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Half liter of water

Preparation

Mix soy and water in one bowl, then leave to stand overnight. In the morning, strain the soy and grind it, then put it ground in a pot, pour a liter of water, and bring to a boil. When it boils, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool. Then take another pot, and pour soy milk into it by straining it through a thin cotton piece. Keep milk covered in the refrigerator.

Almond milk

Ingredients:

  • 150 grams of raw almonds
  • liter of water
  • vanilla extract
  • spoon of honey

Preparation

Pour almonds in water and leave covered for 24 hours. The almonds will swell during that time, so drain them and put them in a blender or chopper. Add two glasses of water and grind until the almonds grind well, then pour two more glasses of water. Strain the obtained contents through cotton gauze. Sweeten almond milk with honey and add vanilla extract for flavor.
Keep covered in the refrigerator.

Coconut milk

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams of coconut flour or grated coconut
  • 600 milliliters of water
  • honey if desired

Preparation

Bring the water to a boil, then remove and wait 2-3 minutes for it to cool slightly. Add coconut flour or grated coconut and let stand for an hour and a half. Pour into a blender and mix for a few minutes. Strain through a gauze, then squeeze out what is left. For flavor, sweeten with honey. Keep covered in the refrigerator.
